Alex Lutke has held various roles in the financial sector throughout their career. Alex started as a Customer Service Representative at Huntington National Bank, where they assisted customers with their personal finances and cash handling. Alex then worked at Lake Michigan Credit Union, first as an Early Default Counselor, later becoming an Accounts Payable Specialist, CUSO Accountant, and finally an Accounting Supervisor. After that, they joined Wexford Community Credit Union as an Accounting Manager, overseeing accounting functions and preparing financial reports. Alex then moved to Wolverine Power as a Staff Accountant. Currently, Alex is serving as the Chief Financial Officer at Forest Area Federal Credit Union, and prior to that, they held the position of Chief Executive Officer. Overall, Alex has demonstrated financial expertise and has progressively taken on more responsibilities in various organizations.
Alex Lutke earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Finance and Economics from Lake Superior State University between 2006 and 2010. Alex later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Management from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, completing it between 2018 and 2022. In 2019, they obtained certification as a Certified Credit Union Executive (CCUE) from the Credit Union National Association.

Forest Area Federal Credit Union
Forest Area Federal Credit Union was organized on September 19, 1983 and located in Larr’s Sporting Goods in Fife Lake, MI, until an alternate location could be found. At the end of the first month of business, Forest Area FCU had a total asset size of $4,049.42 and expenses for the month of $10.00. At the end of 1983, assets had risen to $105,320.89! In January 1985, the office was moved next to Kimball’s Market, and in December 1993, the office was moved once again, this time to its current location at 638 Boyd St. in Fife Lake. We opened our first branch office in Kalkaska, Michigan in 1987, to be followed 10 years later in 1997 by our Kingsley branch. Our Manton branch was added in 2001, followed later by the Mesick and Lake City branches in 2019. Since those humble beginnings of 1983, Forest Area FCU continues to grow together with our amazing communities.
