Mark Walsh has a comprehensive work experience in various industries and roles. Mark started their career in the Ministry of Defence as a Technician Apprentice and later worked as a Professional & Technology Officer. Mark then moved to Lamb Technicon UK, where they served as a Senior Engineering Buyer and eventually became a Programme Manager. During this time, they managed significant projects for automotive companies such as Ford, Chrysler, and Kia Motors.

In 2004, Mark joined St Edmundsbury Borough Council as the Head of Service for Waste, Street Scene Services & Projects. Mark also took on the role of Procurement and Project Manager, leading on various projects and the management of the council's interests in a town center retail development.

Mark later joined West Suffolk Council as the Head of Waste Management and Property Services before being promoted to Director of Operations. In this role, they led multi-disciplinary teams responsible for delivering frontline council services in West Suffolk. Mark oversaw waste collection, street cleansing, facilities management, and other areas.

In 2015, Mark established a Joint Venture company called Verse Facilities Management Limited, which offered services in cleaning, security, catering, and more. The company was co-owned by Vertas Group Ltd and West Suffolk Council.

In addition to their work in the public sector, Mark also served as an Honorary Commander in the United States Air Force's 48th Fighter Wing's Civil Engineering Squadron. This role involved building relationships between the local civilian community and the RAF Military community.

Mark Walsh has a diverse education history, starting with their Engineering Diploma from West Suffolk College, which they earned from 1980 to 1982. After that, they completed a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Production Engineering at Thames Polytechnic, which they attended from 1982 to 1984. In 1985, they also pursued an apprenticeship at Royal Arsenal Woolwich as an Apprentice Technician.

Moving forward, Mark acquired a Graduate Diploma in Purchasing & Supply from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply, studying from 1992 to 1996. Mark further enhanced their qualifications by achieving a Prince 2 Practitioner certification from PMProfessional in 2007.

To advance their skills in business management, Mark pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Lord Ashcroft International Business School, graduating in 2013. Finally, in 2017 and 2018, they attended Iridium, where they received an ILM Level 5 degree in Coaching and Mentoring.
