Vicki Rakowski has a diverse work experience in the library and education sectors. Vicki is currently serving as the Executive Director of the Forest Park Public Library. Prior to this role, they co-founded Make it @ Your Library, an organization dedicated to helping libraries incorporate the Maker Movement into their programs. At the Barrington Area Library, Vicki held the positions of Executive Director and Head of Operations, where they managed various departments and led interdepartmental projects. Vicki also served as the Head of Youth Services at the LaGrange Public Library and Assistant Director of Youth Services at the Lisle Library District. In these roles, they focused on providing engaging experiences and dynamic programming for youth. Vicki also gained teaching experience as an Instructor of English in a Foreign Language at The Caledonian School. Vicki Rakowski holds a Master of Library and Information Science degree in Library Science from Dominican University. Vicki also has a degree in Teaching of English as a Foreign Language with a focus on English as a second language pedagogy from The Caledonian School. Additionally, they have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Western Illinois University and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing - Fiction from Western Michigan University.
