David Zhu, FSA, FCIA, PhD, is an accomplished actuary with extensive experience in the financial and insurance industries. Currently serving as an actuary at Foresters Financial since January 2023, David previously held the role of Vice President and Head of Americas Data Analytics at SCOR from August 2021 to January 2023. David’s earlier positions include Director of Insurance Product Marketing at Empire Life, actuary in Integrated Analytics at Munich Re, and a PhD student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. David's internship experiences include roles at The Hartford and co-op positions at Mercer, PwC, Foresters Financial, and CIBC. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, cross-registration in Statistics at Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Mathematics with Honours in Actuarial Science/Finance from the University of Waterloo.
