Sandro Rezzio

Chief Aquaculture Officer at Forever Oceans

Sandro Rezzio Jil has spent more than 31 years in the aquaculture industry in different countries - including Chile, Vietnam, Canada, USA and Panama. As a Production and Operations Manager, he produced 18,000 tons of salmon (Atlantic and coho salmon and trout) per year in Chile, 1,100 tons of warm water fish (cobia, pompano and barramundi) per year in Vietnam, and 16,000 tons of Atlantic salmon per year in Canada. He holds a Fisheries Technician degree from Instituto Profesional Zipter in Viña del Mar, a Fisheries Engineer degree from Universidad de Concepcion in Concepcion, and a Diploma in Management Skills from the Universidad de Chile.

He began working in the Salmon Industry in Chile in 1989 and spent his time there working with numerous companies in various aquaculture applications, until his departure for Vietnam in 2011. Sandro has extensive experience from mapping diets to production schedules for a variety of different fish species. Since 2011 he has worked in Vietnam, Canada, US (and now in Panama) at established companies.

Sandro’s main focus in the Aquaculture industry has been the reduction of production costs through Economic Feed Conversion Ratio (EFCR) optimization, mortality reduction and granular feed control refinement. Sandro has worked closely with the engineering and biology teams in Hawaii; he’s provided valuable feedback during design cycles, improved critical component vendor relationships, and incorporated best practices into all ongoing operations.
