Susan Chomsky currently serves as the Donor Relations and Database Manager at Forgotten Harvest, where responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy of donor data in the Raiser’s Edge database, leading the data entry team, and providing custom reports for staff. With a background in development from the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit, Susan coordinated annual campaigns and managed fundraising efforts. Earlier experience includes roles at Hebrew Free Loan Association, where document coordination and community outreach were key, and La Leche League, where Susan worked as the Michigan Volunteer Coordinator and Capital Campaign Coordinator for the Michigan region. Education was pursued at Lawrence Technological University and Grand Valley State University.

Forgotten Harvest

Forgotten Harvest was formed in 1990 to fight two problems: hunger and waste. Forgotten Harvest “rescued” and distributed 40 million pounds of food last year by collecting surplus prepared and perishable food from 800 sources, including grocery stores, fruit and vegetable markets, restaurants, caterers, dairies, farmers, wholesale food distributors and other Health Department-approved sources. This donated food, which would otherwise go to waste, is delivered free-of-charge to more than 200 emergency food providers in the Metro Detroit area.
