Thomas L Spann Jr

Thomas L Spann Jr is an experienced music educator and performer with a diverse background in teaching and performing. Currently serving as a Music Teacher at I.T. Creswell Middle Magnet School of Performing Arts and a Drum Teacher at Forks Drum Closet and Creative Soul Music Academy, Thomas also contributes as a Teaching Artist at the National Museum of African American Music. With previous roles as an Adjunct Music Professor at Fisk University and Tennessee State University, Thomas has focused on percussion, marching band, and world music education. A freelance drummer since 2008, Thomas holds a Master of Science degree in Music Teacher Education from Tennessee State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance from Benedict College.
