Erika Schwarz Taylor has a diverse range of work experience in the field of computational biology and bioinformatics. Erika currently holds the position of Principal Computational Biologist at Form Bio since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at The Bioinformatics CRO as a Bioinformatician starting in 2022. Erika also co-founded Environmental Quality Operations in 2017 and served as a scientific advisor. Erika has industry experience as a Sr. Bioinformatics Support Scientist at Illumina from 2022 to 2023. Additionally, they have held academic positions, including Assistant Professor at St. Mary's University from 2020 to 2022 and Visiting Assistant Professor at St. Edward's University from 2016 to 2019.
Erika Schwarz Taylor holds an extensive education history. Erika completed their undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina Wilmington from 2007 to 2009, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology. Following this, they pursued their Master of Science (MS) degree in Marine Biology at the same institution from 2010 to 2011.
Erika then furthered their education by attending The University of Texas at Austin, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Genome Sciences/Genomics from 2011 to 2016.
In recent years, Erika returned to academic pursuits by enrolling in the St. Mary's University School of Law. From 2020 to 2022, they pursued a Master of Jurisprudence degree, specializing in Business Ethics, Compliance, and Risk.
In addition to their formal education, Erika Schwarz Taylor obtained a certification in eDiscovery Technology from the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS) and NSLT in September 2021.
