Byron Fung

Byron Fung has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Byron began their career at AMD in 2009 as a Hardware Qualification Engineer. After that, they joined Loblaw Companies Limited in 2011 as a Senior Business Process Improvement Analyst. In 2013, they moved to LoyaltyOne as an Analyst, Analytics and Insights. In 2016, they joined Rubikloud Technologies as a Senior Data Analyst, where they worked until 2018. Byron then returned to LoyaltyOne as a Data Engineer until 2019. Since 2019, Byron has been working at Forma.ai, initially as the Director of Analytics and Data Science and currently as the VP of Analytics & Data Science.

Byron Fung obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Operations Research from the University of Toronto, where they studied from 2006 to 2011. Following that, they pursued a Master's Degree in Master of Management Analytics from the Smith School of Business at Queen's University, attending from 2014 to 2015. Prior to their university studies, Byron attended the International Baccalaureate from 2004 to 2006 and Sir Winston Churchill from 2003 to 2006. Byron also received their primary education at the Calgary Science School from 1999 to 2003.

In terms of certifications, Byron achieved the Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) designation from INFORMS in August 2015 and also received the same certification from the Analytics Certification Board in August 2018. In addition, they obtained the SAS Certified Predictive Modeler Using SAS Enterprise Miner 7 from SAS in September 2014 and CompTIA A+ Certification from CompTIA in February 2006. Recently, in September 2022, Byron achieved the Databricks Lakehouse Fundamentals Academy Accreditation from Databricks.
