LiLi Tan has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in media, marketing, and creative services. LiLi is currently the Founder of KAILU, a lifestyle brand that focuses on creating products rooted in Chinese heritage. Prior to this, LiLi worked as an Associate Creative Director at Formerly Known As. LiLi also worked as a Storyteller, Content Producer & Digital Brand Strategist for Fortune 500 Companies and startups, where they created compelling content for clients such as Airbnb, NBC, and various other brands. LiLi has also held roles as a Senior Copywriter at Level Studios, a Marketing Communications Specialist at Airbnb, and an On-air Reporter and Multimedia Journalist at NBC News and ABC News. LiLi started their career as a Graduate Student at Medill News Service, Northwestern University and also served as a Features Editor at Asia Tatler. Additionally, LiLi has had experience as a Freelance Marketing and Creative Services professional, working with international publications such as Huffington Post, Time Out, Wall Street Journal Asia, SCMP, and Travel + Leisure SEA.
LiLi Tan's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from UCLA, which they obtained from 1999 to 2003. In 2003, they attended Columbia University to complete a course specializing in Magazine Publishing called the Columbia Publishing Course. In 2012, LiLi Tan pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Broadcast Journalism at Northwestern University.
