Sam Hammond's work experience begins in 1994 when they worked at Pacific Monolithics as a Product Marketing Manager and Applications Engineer. They worked in sales and product marketing for military semiconductor products and later transitioned to a technical role supporting power amplifiers and other components in commercial cellular telephone applications.

In 1996, Sam Hammond moved to TriQuint Semiconductor (now Qorvo, Inc.) where they spent nearly 23 years. They initially worked as an Applications Engineer and Group Manager, providing support for power amplifier and receiver products for cellular telephones. In 2013, they transitioned to the role of Senior Member of the Technical Staff, focusing on technical issues and customer support.

Since 2019, Sam Hammond has been working at FormFactor Inc. as a Senior Principal Technical Support Engineer.

Sam Hammond attended Cornell University from 1973 to 1977, earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
