Sustainability Manager at Formo

Chen Z. has a diverse work experience in the sustainability field. They started their career at Organic Research Centre as a Student Intern in 2019. Following that, Chen Z. worked at INRAE as a MSc thesis researcher in 2020. They then joined Continental Bakeries in 2020 as a Group Sustainability Coordinator. In this role, they developed the group's ESG strategy, managed ESG data, and performed risk analysis. Chen Z. also played a key role in the merger of two biscuit manufacturing groups, designing an integrated ESG strategy and supporting materiality analyses. They were responsible for external communication with shareholders, work unions, customers, and NGOs, as well as completing the WWF Palm Oil Buy Scorecard. Additionally, Chen Z. built internal governance and stimulated employee engagement through monthly updates, local training programs, and employee surveys. Most recently, Chen Z. joined Formo in 2023 as a Sustainability Manager. Their responsibilities include designing ESG metrics, setting goals, and monitoring the environmental impact of Formo's products through Life Cycle Analysis.

Chen Z. pursued a Bachelor's degree in Plant Protection from Nanjing Agricultural University from 2014 to 2018. In order to further enhance their knowledge and skills, they then enrolled at Wageningen University & Research from 2018 to 2020, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Organic Agriculture. Additionally, during the same period, they also studied at ISARA Lyon and obtained a Master's degree in Agroecology.
