Senior Scientist Cultivation Technology Development at Formo

Matic Srdic has a diverse work experience in the fields of biotechnology and microbiology. In 2022, they started working as a Senior Scientist Cultivation Technology Development at Formo. From 2017-2018, they worked as a Principal Bioprocess Engineer and Doctoral Fellow at SeSaM-Biotech GmbH. During this time, they were responsible for upstream and downstream bioprocessing and planned and coordinated projects with a combined worth of half a million USD. In 2018, they were a Visiting Researcher at Bisy GmbH as part of a secondment in the Oxytrain project. From 2016-2015, they were a Master Student and Student Assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology. During this time, they studied the effects of split protein fragment complementation on E. coli metabolome and engineered hybrid chemotaxis receptors in E. In 2015, they were also a Student Assistant at the National Institute of Biology, where they worked on a project that explored the chemotactic role that cathepsin K's cleavage of SDF-1α plays in glioblastoma stem-like cells.

Matic Srdic has a diverse educational background. Matic obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, General from the University of Ljubljana, Biotechnical Faculty between 2010 and 2014. Matic then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Molecular and Functional Biology from the same institution between 2014 and 2016. In 2021, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Biotechnology from RWTH Aachen University. Additionally, they hold two certifications, a GMP Basics Course from GMP Academy obtained in March 2021, and a Finding Hidden Messages in DNA (Bioinformatics I) from Coursera Course Certificates obtained in March 2017.
