Bill Bast has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Bill started their career as an Engineer II at Mobil Oil, where they utilized engineering theories and practices in the design, construction, and operation of pipelines and related facilities. Bill then worked at Ford Motor Company as a Product Design Engineer, where they designed and tested fuel tank and fuel pump sender assemblies for various vehicle applications. Bill also served as a Resident Quality Engineer, providing on-site engineering support and interface for the Electrical & Fuel Handling Division with Vehicle Operations.

After their tenure at Ford, Bill joined Visteon as a Product Design Engineer, focusing on the development and testing of fuel tank and fuel pump sender assemblies. Bill later became the Lead Thermoforming Engineer and was responsible for launching a new assembly plant and managing the setup of thermoformer machines.

Bill's next role was at Trane, where they worked as an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer. Bill prepared cost estimates, engineering specifications, and plant layouts, and also oversaw the installation of new facility and manufacturing equipment. Bill later moved to System Engineering on a cross-functional assignment to reduce total system cost.

Bill then joined Alcoa as a Staff Reliability Mechanical Engineer, providing technical and practical engineering support to operations and maintenance. Bill deployed an operational excellence philosophy to improve the uptime and availability of production facilities.

Bill later joined Govind Development as a Project Engineer, specializing in major rotating equipment maintenance for turbines, compressors, and pumps. Bill managed capital projects and was located at the Ineos Nitriles Green Lake Plant.

Their most recent role was as a Senior Reliability Engineer at Dow, where they focused on ensuring the reliability of systems and equipment.

Currently, Bill is working as a Senior Maintenance Engineer at Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. Their responsibilities include providing mechanical integrity support, assisting with process safety and management of change projects, and maintaining historical records of physical assets.

Bill Bast completed their undergraduate education from 1986 to 1988 at Greenville University, where they took 64 hours of undergraduate courses in Physics. Following this, they attended Texas A&M University from 1988 to 1991 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. In terms of additional certifications, Bill obtained the Vibration Analyst Certification from Technical Associates of Charlotte, P.C. in November 2010, the Machinery Lubrication I Certification from the International Council for Machinery Lubrication (ICML) in September 2010, and the Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Trane Residential in November 2008.
