Hau Chen began their work experience in 2010 as a Summer Researcher for Carnegie Mellon University, where they focused on analyzing the surface and mechanical properties of Head & Shoulders products using Atomic Force Microscopy. Hau then joined Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. in 2013 as a Process Engineer for LLDPE, where they were responsible for additive inventory, product extrusion, pellets transfer, and product quality control. Hau also troubleshooted and debottlenecked the extrusion area and transfer systems. In 2014, Hau Chen became the LDPE Expansion Process Specialist for Formosa Plastics Corporation, overseeing a successful LDPE plant expansion project. Hau then transitioned to the role of Process Engineer II for LDPE, before being promoted to Assistant Plant Manager.
Hau Chen obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. Following this, Hau pursued a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering at the same university, completing their studies from 2012 to 2013.
In addition to their formal education, Hau Chen has obtained several certifications. They acquired the title of Engineer In Training from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors in July 2017. Prior to that, in May 2015, Hau completed LOPA Training at IHS, Inc., and in December 2014, they obtained a certification in PHA for Team Leaders from Primatech Inc.
