David Cushman

David Cushman is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in various roles across the creative industry. As the Owner of FORM:SUBSTANCE since June 1995, David has cultivated a successful design practice. Previous positions include Visual Design Manager at Interlude Home, Inc. from April 2022 to April 2025, Designer at Alexander Isley Inc. from July 2021 to April 2022, Senior Art Director at wsaa, inc. from April 2007 to June 2021, and Creator/Editor/Creative Director at Connecticut Creatives from March 2008 to May 2021. David has also served as Design Director at Gartner, Inc. from June 2002 to March 2006, Art Director at Cole Design Group from January 2000 to June 2002, Design Director at Litchfield County Times from March 1998 to September 1999, and Assistant Art Director at Connecticut Magazine from June 1997 to March 1998. David holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design from the University of Hartford, earned between 1991 and 1995.
