Cem Sonmez, Ph.D.

Cem Sonmez, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and organizations. Cem started their career as an Intern at the Laboratory of Medical Genetics in the Institute of Child Health at Istanbul University in 2004. Cem later returned to Istanbul University in 2005 for an Internship in the Institute of Experimental Medicine. In 2006, they had an Internship at Genar Institute in the Hacettepe Science and Technology Park, followed by another Internship at Histogenetics. Cem then pursued an internship in Peptide Synthesis at the Materials Science and Engineering Department of the University of Washington in 2007. In 2008, Cem worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at the University of Delaware.

Cem'sprofessional journey continued at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), where they held multiple roles. Cem served as a Predoctoral Research Fellow from November 2009 to May 2014 and subsequently became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from June 2014 to December 2017.

From 2017 to 2021, they worked at Histogenetics as a Senior Scientist, contributing to various areas such as Research and Development, Project Management, and Quality. Currently, they are employed as an Account Manager at Formulatrix, starting their role in March 2022.

Cem Sonmez, Ph.D.'s education history includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Istanbul Technical University. Additionally, they hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Delaware.
