Dr. Sila Rizalar is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Leibniz-Forschungsinstitut für Molekulare Pharmakologie (FMP), focusing on the molecular mechanisms of human presynapse formation using stem cell-derived neurons since September 2017. Prior to this role, Dr. Rizalar served as a Research Assistant at Koç University, studying transcription factor CUX1-regulated gene expression in the developing cortex, and has held research internships at Bogazici University, Karolinska Institutet, and Aarhus University, where work included neurodegeneration and anti-inflammatory therapy studies in models of Parkinson's disease. Dr. Rizalar earned a PhD in Biochemistry from Freie Universität Berlin, a Master of Science in Molecular Neurobiology from Koç University, and a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Boğaziçi University.
