Dagfinn Olson has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Dagfinn started their career in 1981 as a Service Manager at Marconi Data and later worked as a Development Engineer at Telettra Norway from 1983 to 1993. Dagfinn then joined Alcatel Telecom Norway as a Senior Software Developer, holding various roles within the company from 1993 to 1999. In the year 2000, they briefly worked as a Datacommunications Teacher at Høgskolen i Østfold. From 2000 to 2010, they served as a Senior Consultant at Norbris and concurrently worked as a Senior Developer at AXXESSIT ASA from 2000 to 2004. Dagfinn also worked as a Senior Developer at Spagat from 2003 to 2005. In 2005, they joined Autofx as a Senior Consultant. In 2008, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Cinevision AS before finally joining the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment FFI in 2009 as a Chief Engineer, a role they currently hold.

Dagfinn Olson's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from Østfold University College (HiØ) which they obtained from 1977 to 1979. Dagfinn also attended Malakoff Videregående Skole from 1976 to 1977 where they obtained a Technician degree in Electronics. Additionally, they went to Befalsskolen for Hærens Transportkorps og Hærens Intendantur from 1979 to 1980 where they earned a Sergeant degree in Supply Services.

In terms of certifications, Dagfinn Olson obtained an ISTQB Certified Tester certification from ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board in May 2016.
