Simon Adams

Director, Community Services at Fort Mckay First Nation

Simon has been with Fort McKay First Nation since April 2012. Simon was born in Bristol, Great Britain, and immigrated to Canada when he was 3 years old with his family. Simon made the long journey across the Atlantic by ship in 1968 and settled in Southern Ontario upon the family’s arrival to Canada. Simon was a graduate of the Canadore College Recreation Leadership program (North Bay, Ontario) in 1986. Simon began his career as a Recreation Therapist at Bloorview Children’s Hospital in 1986 providing Sport and Recreation opportunities for children in palliative care between the ages of 1 and 18. Simon organized the Canadian Electric Wheelchair Hockey Association League out of Bloorview and organized the first-ever High School Electric Wheelchair Hockey Championship for the Southern Ontario region in 1990.
