Josmaily Lóriga, Ph.D., is a Research Associate at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas since April 2020, focusing on a genomic project to investigate the evolutionary history of ferns, specifically integrating bioinformatics with extensive data from the Elaphoglossum genus. Concurrently, Josmaily serves as an Associate at Cheeky Scientist, a platform for academic career development in the medical and life sciences. Previous roles include a Volunteer Project: ML Engineer at Omdena, contributing to a machine learning initiative aimed at enhancing food security in Senegal, and a Mom, committed to personal and professional growth from February 2018 to April 2020. Josmaily's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and extensive research experience in plant science, biodiversity, and molecular techniques from institutions such as the Instituto de Ecología y Sistemática and the Pfizer Plant Research Laboratory.
