Director Of Engineering at FORTA Concrete Fiber

Jerry Welch has worked in a variety of roles in the engineering and construction industry since 1988. Jerry began their career as a Laborer for Local Union 373 in 1988. In 1994, they took on the role of Design Engineer for Tri-State Design and Development. In 1996, they became a Project Engineer and Technical Marketing Manager for Heckett MultiServ, a Division of Harsco. In 2000, they were appointed Vice President of Engineering for Fibercon. From 2001 to 2008, they worked as a Project Engineer for FedEx Ground. Finally, from 2008 to 2015, they served as Director of Projects for Education Management Corporation and Director of Engineering for FORTA Concrete Fiber. Throughout their career, they have been an active member of ACI and ASTM subcommittees, developed computer programs for greater efficiency, and managed multiple project types at various stages of planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance.

Jerry Welch obtained a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Youngstown State University between 1990 and 1995. Jerry then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering at the same university, which they completed in 1996. Prior to that, they attended Shady Side Academy from 1984 to 1988. Jerry also holds a certification as an Engineer Intern from The State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors of the State of Ohio.
