Prior to their master's degree, Jeffrey obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Urban Studies with an emphasis on Law & Policy and Community & Economic Development from the University of Washington Tacoma, which they completed from 2009 to 2011.
Before their higher education, Jeffrey attended Rogers High School and graduated in 1993.
In terms of additional certifications, Jeffrey became a charter member of the International African American Museum (IAAM) in September 2022. Jeffrey also became a Path to Positive Communities Ambassador at ecoAmerica in March 2022. In February 2022, Jeffrey joined the BlackSpace Urbanist Collective as a member. Additionally, they became a fellow at the American Leadership Forum - National in January 2022, and a member of Tabor 100 in October 2021. In the same month, they became a senior fellow at the Environmental Leadership Program. In February 2021, Jeffrey obtained a certification as a Certified Diversity Consultant from DEI Management.
In terms of financial counseling certifications, Jeffrey became an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) from the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education® (AFCPE®) in September 2014. Jeffrey also obtained the HERO Community Development Certified Financial Counseling (CDCFC) certification from the National Cooperative Business Association CLUSA International (NCBA CLUSA) in April 2019.
Other affiliations include being a member of the American Planning Association and TACOMA URBAN LEAGUE.
In the past, Jeffrey held licenses as a Washington Licensed Designated Broker & Mortgage Loan Originator with the Washington Department of Financial Institutions.
