Steve Oldenburg

Steven Oldenburg is a strategic advisor at Fortis Life Sciences, contributing to market analysis and innovation for the Nanomaterials Business Unit since June 2021. Previously, Steven served as General Manager at Fortis Life Sciences, overseeing the growth of the nanomaterials and diagnostic divisions. As founder and CEO of nanoComposix from August 2004 until January 2024, Steven focused on advancing nanomaterial commercialization across various markets. Steven's early career includes a role as Senior Scientist at Seashell Technology, where technical programs in nanotechnology were led, and a notable achievement as a graduate student at Rice University, where a method for fabricating gold nanoshells was discovered. Steven holds a PhD in Applied Physics from Rice University and a BSc in Physics and Computer Science from The University of British Columbia.
