Nelson Lee

Nelson Lee has over 20 years of experience in the non-life insurance and reinsurance industries. Nelson worked as a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where they focused on long tail classes such as worker's compensation. Nelson then joined PartnerRe as an Actuary before becoming the Group Actuary, Modelling. Nelson later moved to Validus Reinsurance, Ltd. as a VP Actuary, responsible for capital modeling and financial planning. Nelson eventually became the SVP Actuary, Head of Capital Modeling & Financial Planning at Validus Reinsurance. Currently, Nelson is the Chief Actuary at Fortitude Re, where they manage a range of roles including traditional reserving, stochastic modeling, pricing, and strategic financial modeling.

Nelson Lee obtained a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Applied Finance degree with a focus on Actuarial Studies from Macquarie University from 1998 to 2001. Following that, they attended the Institute of Actuaries of Australia from 2002 to 2007, where they earned the FIAA degree in Non-life insurance. Additionally, they have acquired several certifications in data manipulation and visualization using R from DataCamp, although specific dates of completion are not provided.
