Leone Atkinson

Leone Atkinson is an experienced executive in the field of rare diseases and advanced therapies, currently serving as the Executive Medical Director of the Rare Disease, Advanced Therapies, and Pediatrics Team at Fortrea since June 2023. Prior to this role, Leone held various leadership positions including Executive Director at Labcorp Drug Development from October 2011 to June 2023, where responsibilities involved managing rare disease and pediatric initiatives. Experience also includes serving as Executive Director at PTC Therapeutics and leading significant clinical programs at sanofi-aventis, specifically for multiple sclerosis, as well as managing global clinical teams at Novartis. Leone holds an MD and PhD in Neurology/Neuroscience from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, obtained between 1997 and 2001.
