Jelena Kunovac

Jelena Kunovac is a highly experienced professional in the fields of psychiatry and neurology, currently serving as the Co-founder and CEO of Redbird Research since July 2024. Additionally, Jelena holds the position of Entrepreneur in Residence at Fortress Biotech since March 2022 and has been the founder of ALEA CONSULTING since January 2015. As Co-Founder and CEO of Excell Research since January 2003, Jelena has established a clinical research facility dedicated to Phase II to Phase IV clinical trials. Previous roles include Chief Scientific Officer at The IMA Group from February 2019 to December 2022, Founder and CEO at Alea Research from August 2018 to February 2019, and Founder and CEO at Altea Research in Las Vegas from January 2012 to February 2019. An early career position as Associate Medical Director at Affiliated Research Institute from 1999 to 2002 was also significant. Jelena's academic background includes a residency in psychiatry at UC San Diego (1997-2001) and a Master of Science in Biological Psychiatry from the University of Belgrade (1988-1991), alongside a medical degree from the same institution (1982-1988).
