George O'Brien

Vice President Of Engineering at Fortress Solutions

George O'Brien has extensive experience in engineering and management roles. George started their career at AT&T Bell Labs as a Member of Technical Staff. George then joined Freescale Semiconductor as a Product Engineering Manager, where they gained experience in product development and manufacturing of DRAM memory products. After that, they worked at ST Microelectronics as a Design Manager, leading a team of design engineers in the development of CMOS logic and EEROM products. George then returned to Freescale Semiconductor, this time as a Product Engineering Manager, responsible for managing a team and implementing yield enhancement strategies for memory products.

In 1999, George joined GENBAND as a Principal Hardware Engineer, where they collaborated on the development of VoIP gateway systems. As the Director of Hardware Engineering at GENBAND, they led hardware design engineering and managed contract mechanical CAD and lab technicians. In 2017, GENBAND merged with Sonus Networks and became Ribbon Communications, where George continued to serve as the Director of Engineering, overseeing software, hardware, and system test engineering development.

In 2018, George joined Engineering Innovations SME and took on various roles, including that of George O'Brien. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Engineering at Fortress Solutions, where they are responsible for leading the engineering team.

George O'Brien completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin from 1972 to 1976. George further pursued their education at the same university and obtained a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from 1976 to 1978.
