Erik Hood

Erik Hood has been working in the security field since 2019, when they began as a Senior Security Consultant (FedRAMP) at Coalfire. Erik then progressed through the roles of Security Consultant (FedRAMP) and Associate Security Consultant (FedRAMP) before taking on a Strategic Communications/ Game Operations role at Virginia Tech in 2018. Prior to that, they held an IT / Data Analytics Internship at Woodsboro Bank in 2018. Erik is currently a Senior Security Consultant at Fortreum since 2022.

Erik Hood completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Information Technology Operations and Supply Chain Management from Virginia Tech between 2015 and 2019. During their time at Virginia Tech, they also completed a minor in International Business from Prague University of Economics and Business in 2017. In addition, they have obtained a number of certifications, including the Certification of Cloud Security Knowledge v4 from the Cloud Security Alliance in July 2019, Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) from ISACA in April 2022, Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in January 2020, CompTIA Security+ from CompTIA in September 2019, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundations 2020 Associate from Oracle in April 2020, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from IISE Manufacturing and Design Division in March 2018.
