Bernhard Günther

Bernhard Günther has over 25 years of experience in the energy sector. Bernhard is currently the Chief Financial Officer at Fortum.

From 1999 to 2016, Bernhard was the CFO at RWE. During their time there, they oversaw the company's finance, accounting, and controlling functions. Bernhard also played a key role in RWE's transformation from a coal-based company to a leading renewable energy provider.

Prior to RWE, Bernhard worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. Bernhard was responsible for leading and managing projects in a variety of industries, including the energy sector.

Bernhard has a deep understanding of the energy industry and the financial markets. Bernhard is a strategic thinker who has proven himself to be an effective leader in times of change.

Bernhard Günther has a Ph.D. in Wirtschaftswissenschaften from the University of St.Gallen, a Master's in VWL from the University of St.Gallen, and is a visiting student in PPE at the University of Oxford.

Bernhard Günther reports to Markus Rauramo, President and CEO. They work with Mikael Rönnblad - EVP, Consumer Solutions, Nora Steiner-Forsberg - General Counsel, and Simon-Erik Ollus - EVP, Generation.
