Kristian Rehnström's work experience includes a variety of roles in different companies. Kristian started their career as a Trainee at Imatran Voima Oy in May 1997 and ended in March 1999. Concurrently, they worked as an Assistant at the Parliament of Finland from November 1997 to March 1999. Following this, they joined Fortum as a Project Engineer from March 1999 to February 2001. Kristian then worked as a Sales Manager at Fortum, focusing on growing the district heating business from February 2001 to November 2003. From November 2003 to December 2006, they served as a Manager, District Heating at Fortum. From January 2007 to January 2010, they worked as a Development Manager, integrating the district heating businesses of E. On Finland and Fortum. Kristian then became the Head of Sales, District Heating at Fortum from February 2010 to February 2012. Following this, they took on the role of Head of Sales, Regulatory Affairs and Business Development, Heat Baltics at Fortum from February 2012 to May 2016. From June 2016 to July 2018, they served as the Director of Business Development Eastern Europe at Fortum. Kristian then became the General Manager at Fortum eNext, responsible for the Finnish and Baltic markets until September 2023. Finally, they took on the role of Director of Corporate Relations at Fortum from October 2023 onwards.

Kristian Rehnström obtained their M.Sc. in Engineering from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan, spanning from 1987 to 1999. Kristian also earned a Coxswain 'C' certification from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1992. Prior to that, they attended Gymnasiet Lärkan from 1984 to 1987. Additionally, they hold an Inland Skipper's Certificate from the Finnish Maritime Administration, obtained in 2001.
