Thomas Sommer

Thomas Sommer, MPP, CFRE, currently serves as the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Lawrence Technological University and as Chair of the Development Committee for the Greater Detroit Agency for the Blind & Visually Impaired. With extensive experience in philanthropic and community development, previous roles include Grant Writer at The Community House Foundation, Executive Director at Leadership Oakland, and Senior Director of Philanthropy Corporate and Foundation Relations at Kettering University. Additional experience includes leadership positions in development, strategic initiatives, budget analysis, and community assessment across various organizations, including United Way and Nassau County. Thomas Sommer holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from The George Washington University School of Business and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Buffalo State University.
