Vesa Ilama

Vesa Ilama is an experienced professional in project and program management with a career spanning several decades. Currently serving as an Advisory Board Member for the International Project Management Association (IPMA) since October 2023, Vesa has held various senior managerial positions at Fortum since May 2019, focusing on strategic development, development and quality, and project management office functions. Significant achievements include the definition and deployment of project and portfolio management processes, development of comprehensive training solutions, and facilitation of professional networking initiatives. Prior to Fortum, Vesa served as Director of Business Development at Suomen Projekti-Instituutti Oy and held leadership roles at Tieto Finland and Nokia Siemens Networks, ultimately overseeing global program management functions and competence development. Vesa holds a Master of Science degree from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan and a Bachelor of Science degree from Kotkan Teknillinen Oppilaitos.
