Jose Luis Villanueva Mejia

Jose Luis Villanueva Mejia is a seasoned professional in laboratory management with extensive experience in the mining and metallurgy sectors. Currently serving as Senior Laboratory Supervisor at Fortuna Silver Mines since January 2017, Jose Luis oversees sampling, preparation, and fire assay analysis of concentrate shipments, while also managing quality control documents and accreditation processes for various ISO standards. Previous roles include Assay and Metallurgical Lab Manager at Star Core and Laboratory Supervisor at Carrizal Mining, where jose luis enhanced analytical methodologies and staff performance. Additionally, as Laboratory Manager at GRUPO FIREX, Jose Luis established and trained a new assay laboratory. Jose Luis holds a Bachelor's degree in Mining from Universidad Tecnológica Minera de Zimapán, an Assayer Training Program certificate from British Columbia Institute of Technology, and an Associate's degree in Mining and Metallurgy from Universidad Tecnológica Minera de Zimapán.
