Michael L. Hance

Michael L. Hance is the Chief Legal Officer and Secretary at Forward Air. Michael has over twenty years of experience as an attorney, specializing in labor and employment law as well as general litigation. Prior to joining Forward Air, Michael was an attorney at Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz PLC from January 2003 to December 2006. Before that, they were an attorney at Bass, Berry & Sims from January 1999 to December 2003, where they focused on corporate and securities law. Michael is a highly skilled attorney who has a proven track record of success in both the private and public sectors.

Michael L. Hance received a J.D. from Emory University School of Law, an M.Div. from Emory University School of Theology, and a B.A. from Carson-Newman University.

They are on a team with Matthew J. Jewell - Chief Commercial Officer, Jay Tomasello - Chief Information Officer, and Chris C. Ruble - Chief Operating Officer. Their manager is Thomas Schmitt, President & CEO.
