Riemer Smink is a Dutch entrepreneur and investor who is currently the Managing Partner at FORWARD.one Venture Capital.
Smink has over 19 years of experience in the real estate and finance industries. Riemer started their career as an Assetmanager Development at AM, where they led several residential development projects in the Amsterdam region. In 2003, they co-created a semi-automated geographical market research system and assisted in setting up a non-listed investment fund to finance new development projects.
In 2010, Smink left AM to join Kempen & Co Corporate Finance as a Director on the European RE team. During their time at Kempen, Smink assisted and led several strategy, M&A and ECM projects in France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, and Turkey.
In 2015, Smink became the Chief Investment Officer at Wereldhave, where they were responsible for divestment of Finland. Riemer left Wereldhave in 2016 to co-found Retter Innovation in EMS, where they created a patented and new innovative medical device for the EMS market.
Smink has been Managing Partner at FORWARD.one Venture Capital since January 2021.
Riemer Smink attended Nyenrode Business University, where they received their MSc in Economics. They also attended HKU (Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht), where they received their Bachelor of Arts in Interaction Design.
