Leonard Seed, P.Eng. has held a variety of engineering roles since 1996. Leonard began their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Guelph, followed by a Research Engineer role at the University of Waterloo. In 1998, they joined ENPAR Technologies Inc. as a Senior Engineer, where they were responsible for research, experimental design, feasibility testing, system design, and project management. In 2013, they moved to Newalta as a Senior Technical Engineer, where they identified, tested, and evaluated new technologies for waste treatment and recycling. In 2015, they established their own consulting firm, LPSeed Consulting Inc., where they assisted technology start-up companies commercialize new water/wastewater treatment technologies. Leonard also reviewed design and operation of CDI cells and systems, as well as provided assistance with interpretation of laboratory and pilot testing results. In 2017, they began working part-time as a Professor at the School of Engineering Technology, Mohawk College. In 2021, they accepted the role of Director of Engineer and Operations at Forward Water Technologies Inc.
Leonard Seed, P.Eng. obtained their Professional Engineer certification from Professional Engineers Ontario. Leonard then went on to receive a B.Sc. in Biomedical Science from the University of Guelph in 1984. Leonard continued their studies at the University of Guelph, obtaining a B.Sc. in Biological Engineering in 1993, followed by an M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering in 1995.
