Rick Lanman

Rick Lanman, MD, serves as President of the Institute for Historical Ecology since January 2011 and holds advisory and medical director roles at Forward, a company transforming primary care through innovative technology. Lanman is actively involved with several organizations as a board member or advisor, including Chiara Biosciences, CIRCULOGENE, Precede Biosciences, Sunbird Bio, and Teiko.bio. Previously, Lanman was a member of the Board of Directors at BIOLASE, Inc. and served as Global Chief Medical Officer and Advisor at Guardant Health. An advocate for environmental conservation, Lanman is a past president of the North Santa Clara Resource Conservation District. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Stanford University and an MD from Northwestern University, complemented by a residency in Psychiatry and board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
