DIRECT SERVICES SPECIALIST

Job Summary: The Direct Services Specialist provides assistance in the operations of the clothing closet and food pantry.

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Ensure clothing closet and food pantry are organized, sorted, and cleaned for families to
  • Ensure processes and an organizational system is maintained for efficiency, allowing donations to be processed and volunteers the ability to work
  • Track and discard items not selected in shop to keep store fresh and stocked with desirable
  • Have a system in place to rotate items going out for pick-up by other agencies verses items going in the clothing closet.
  • Drive and pick up donations in varying communities.
  • Conduct community presentations for solicitation of donations and

Qualifications

  • Retail and community outreach experience
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and proposing new ways of creating
  • Outstanding organizational and planning
  • Solid commitment to the principles of support and advocacy for foster and adoptive
  • Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic
  • Strong verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly and
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills. Must have ability to quickly establish rapport and build
  • Flexible and a self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented while meeting all deadlines.
  • Work as a necessary part of a team effort with colleagues of all demographics.
  • Model ethical and professional behavior at all
  • Flexibility, adaptability, able to shift styles to fit the needs of a wide range of cultures, people, and organizations.
