Nikhil Avinash Patil

Nikhil Avinash Patil, PhD, currently serves as an Application Development Engineer at Foster Corporation since October 2025, focusing on custom polymeric material solutions for minimally invasive medical devices. Prior experience includes a role as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Lowell from September 2021 to August 2025, with research interests in soft material additive manufacturing and teaching responsibilities related to polymer rheology and processing techniques. Nikhil has also contributed as a Project Assistant at the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) on a COVID-19 related project and held roles as a Research Assistant at DIAT and Croda, where projects involved polymer-based biomaterials and chemical performance analysis, respectively. Nikhil holds a PhD in Polymer/Plastics Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a Bachelor of Technology in Fiber and Textile Processing Technology from the Institute Of Chemical Technology.
