Stuart studied architecture at Leicester Polytechnic, winning the William Keay Prize for his thesis, before joining the practice in 1993. He has worked on numerous infrastructure, mixed use, commercial and residential projects around the world and has extensive experience of leading teams on international projects. In 2010 Stuart changed his focus to the management of projects. Subsequently he was promoted to senior partner and head of the Management Group, in 2015, currently leading a team of project managers responsible for the commercial, contract and programme resourcing management for the practice’s projects.
His past architectural experience includes the Expo Station in Singapore, where he set up the office and Central Markets in Abu Dhabi, a 607,000m² contemporary mixed-use complex, for which he relocated to the UAE to manage the large site team and lead the office. He led the design teams for 1 and 2 More London Place, a 50,000m² office development on the South Bank of the Thames between London and Tower Bridges and the completion of the Executive Stage of the Florence High Speed Rail Station in Italy. His early projects include Canary Wharf Underground Station, London and the 95-storey London Millennium Tower in the City.
