Ignacio Rey Carrera

Ignacio Rey Carrera has a diverse range of work experience in various industries. Ignacio is currently a board member at REDEX since 2023. Prior to that, Ignacio worked at Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) as the Managing Director Origination, Energy Options & PPA´s from 2019 to the present. At FRV, they managed the global origination, trading, PPA´s, and sales team, overseeing the sale and optimization of energy and green certificates across multiple countries.

Before joining FRV, Ignacio was the Head of Origination at ENGIE from 2016 to 2019. Ignacio also worked at EnergyaVM as a European Power and Energy Options Trader/Structurer from 2013 to 2016. Ignacio started their career in finance at Featherston Capital LLC, where they worked as a Product Sales & Analysis from 2009 to 2012, performing financial analysis and raising a hedge fund. Prior to that, they held positions at Banco Santander as an Equity derivatives trader from 2004 to 2008, and at Deutsche Bank as an Analyst from 2002 to 2004.

Ignacio's career began with a summer internship at Citi in 2001, where they worked on strategic acquisitions and financial institution valuation. Overall, Ignacio has demonstrated expertise in trading, origination, analysis, and sales within the energy and finance industries.

Ignacio Rey Carrera completed their education from 1998 to 2004 at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where they obtained a Licenciatura degree in Mathematical Economy. Additionally, they obtained the certifications of EEX Exchange Trader from EEX EUROPEAN ENERGY EXCHANGE AG in January 2014 and FSA Approved Person from the Financial Services Authority in October 2005.
