Vice President On Strategic Programming at Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology

Suzanna Shamakhyan has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Suzanna is currently the Vice President on Strategic Programming at the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST), a position they have held since July 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President on Partnerships & Programs at FAST from August 2018 to July 2021. Suzanna also briefly held the role of Vice President on Events, Partnerships & Public Policy at FAST from February 2018 to August 2018.

In addition to their work at FAST, Suzanna has also taken on roles outside of the organization. Suzanna is currently an Adjunct Professor at the American University of Armenia, starting in August 2022.

Suzanna Shamakhyan is a notable figure in youth networks in Armenia. In 2012, they co-founded the European Youth Parliament Armenia (EYP Armenia), which has since become the largest youth network in the country. Under their leadership, EYP Armenia successfully implemented over 100 projects, including 20 big-scale forums and conferences.

Earlier in their career, Suzanna worked as an Assistant Lecturer at Russian - Armenian University from March 2016 to January 2018. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Department of International Cooperation at the same university from November 2011 to January 2018. Suzanna also gained experience as a National Legal Officer at the OSCE Office in Yerevan from November 2012 to July 2013.

Suzanna's career began as a Lawyer at Concern Dialog Law Firm, where they worked from July 2010 to March 2012.

Overall, Suzanna Shamakhyan has held various leadership and teaching positions, showcasing their expertise in strategic programming, partnerships, and public policy. Suzanna has also made significant contributions to youth networks in Armenia and has a background in law.

Suzanna Shamakhyan has a strong educational background in law and international public law. Suzanna obtained a Bachelor's degree in Law with a focus on International Public Law and European Law from the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University, graduating in 2011. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Law with a specialization in International Public Law and European Law from the same university, completing their studies with distinction in 2013.

In 2010, Suzanna also had the opportunity to study at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where they received a Diploma of Excellency. During their time there, they focused on European Criminal Law and European Human Rights Law.

Before entering university, Suzanna participated in the Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) Program, where they attended Falcon High School. This experience took place from 2006 to 2007 and provided their with a foundation in computer science and computer networking.

Additionally, Suzanna has pursued various certifications to complement their education. Notably, they completed the Creative Hub Leaders Training Programme offered by the British Council in November 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a certificate in Practical Project Management from Astghik Sahakyan, a certified PMP trainer, in December 2020. In 2019, they completed the Emotional Intelligence and Team Effectiveness Advanced Training provided by EVINAUX. Suzanna also holds certificates from Coursera Course Certificates for courses offered by the University of Leiden, including "International Law in Action: A guide to the International Courts and Tribunals in Hague" in December 2017 and "International Law In Action: Investigating and Prosecuting International Crimes" in November 2016. In 2014, they were certified as a Quality Assurance Professional in Higher Education by the National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance.
