Mitzi Bandera

Mitzi Bandera has extensive work experience in the field of education and research. Mitzi currently works as a Data Analyst at the Foundation for California Community Colleges, specializing in Data Infrastructure and Analytics. Prior to this role, Mitzi worked at the University of California, Los Angeles as an International Student Advisor for five years. Mitzi'sresponsibilities included providing support and guidance to international students.

Before their time at UCLA, Mitzi worked at the University of California, Santa Cruz in various research roles. As a Researcher, they contributed to two successful Title V grant proposals, securing a total of $3.6 million in funding. Mitzi conducted focus groups, interviews, and statistical analysis on Latinx student experiences at UC Santa Cruz.

Additionally, Mitzi served as a Research Assistant at UC Santa Cruz, where they translated interview data into quantifiable metrics and engaged in qualitative consensus coding. Mitzi'swork focused on exploring Participatory Action Research (PAR) and Social Justice Art as contexts for children's critical citizenship development.

Mitzi Bandera has completed a Data Science Bootcamp at Practicum USA. Prior to that, Mitzi pursued an Associate's Degree in Computer Science at Santa Monica College and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Intensive Psychology with an Education Minor from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
