Sara Adan

Sara Adan has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations. Sara began their career as a Researcher/Field Coordinator at the Child and Family Policy Center from 2005 to 2008. Sara then served as a Confidential Administrative Assistant at the Mendocino County Office of Education from 2012 to 2013. Moving on, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at The Education Insights Center (formerly Institute for Higher Education Leadership and Policy) from 2014 to 2016. Sara then joined the Public Policy Institute of California as a Research Associate from 2015 to 2017. Sara continued their research work as a Research Specialist at the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office from 2017 to 2019. In 2019, they held multiple roles simultaneously. Sara served as a Policy Consultant at The Century Foundation from January to December and as a Research Consultant at Improve Your Tomorrow and California Competes from December onwards. Additionally, from September 2019 to February 2021, they worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the California Education Lab/Wheelhouse: The Center for Community College Leadership and Research. Most recently, Sara has been a Senior Data Specialist at the Foundation for California Community Colleges since March 2022.

Sara Adan began their higher education journey in 2003 at Sacramento City College, where they pursued an unspecified degree and field of study. After one year, they transferred to Diablo Valley College in 2004. It is unclear whether they obtained a degree or pursued any specific field of study at this institution. Continuing their education, Sara attended New York University from 2005 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Psychology. In 2013, Sara enrolled at California State University-Sacramento, where they completed a Master of Public Policy and Administration degree in 2016. Most recently, from 2018 to 2021, they attended the University of California, Davis, earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education, specializing in School Organization and Educational Policy.
