David May is an experienced research manager and analyst specializing in economic warfare with a strong background in Middle Eastern issues. Currently at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies since December 2017, David conducts extensive open-source and opposition research in English, Hebrew, and Arabic, contributing to significant policy outcomes such as a memo leading to the sanctions designation of Hamas military commander Marwan Issa. Prior to this role, David worked at AIPAC as a senior research analyst, focusing on timely Middle Eastern matters, and held positions at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the American Enterprise Institute. David holds a Master’s degree in Comparative and Regional Studies with a focus on International Economics from American University and a Bachelor's degree in History, Middle Eastern Studies, and Jewish Studies from the University of Maryland.
