Jason Hughes

Senior Director, Computational Biology at Foundation Medicine

Jason Hughes has a diverse work experience in the field of computational biology. Jason currently holds the position of Senior Director at Foundation Medicine since March 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Director and Principal Scientist in the same company. Jason was previously associated with Brandeis University as an Instructor for their Bioinformatics program from September 2010 to May 2018. Jason also worked at Merck as a Principal Scientist, Associate Principal Scientist, and Contractor from March 2010 to June 2017. Before that, they were a Senior Principal Scientist at Pfizer, where they led the computational biology division and managed a team of computational biologists. Jason also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Senior Scientist at Pfizer, where they contributed to the development of databases and software platforms.

Jason Hughes completed their Bachelor of Science in Physics and Math at Vanderbilt University from 1991 to 1995. Jason then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy in Biophysics at Harvard University from 1995 to 2000.
