Laura Koontz

Laura Koontz, PhD, is a seasoned professional in public policy with a strong background in personalized medicine and regulatory affairs. Currently serving as Senior Director of Public Policy at Foundation Medicine since February 2021, Laura has previously held significant positions including Director of Regulatory Policy at Flatiron Health and in the FDA's Personalized Medicine Policy division. Additional experience includes serving as Director of Policy for the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance, a Congressional Fellow with the U.S. House of Representatives, and a Genetics and Public Policy Fellow at NIH/NHGRI. Laura's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a B.S. (Honors) in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
