Jacqueline Koerner

Jacqueline Koerner, PhD is currently a Fellow at SFU's Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue, where they work on the Re-Imagining Philanthropy project. Jacqueline is also an Instructor for Semester in Dialogue, teaching Trust, Money & Power: Funding Change. In 2020, they became the Director of Foundations for Social Change, a charitable organization focused on innovative programs for vulnerable populations. Jacqueline has also held leadership roles at Ecotrust Canada and Ecotrust, serving as Co-Chair and Vice-Chair respectively. Jacqueline has been involved in the non-profit sector for many years, including serving as an Advisory Board Member for Canada's World and as a Program Director at Vancouver Foundation. Additionally, they have been a Program Manager at Calmeadow Foundation & SEDI. Jacqueline is currently Vice-Chair at CIFAR, the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, where they collaborate with researchers to address global challenges.

Jacqueline Koerner, PhD, has an extensive education history in the field of geography and international affairs. Jacqueline obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in Geography from Queen's University in 1982. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in International Affairs and Economics at Carleton University, completing it in 1985. Continuing their academic journey, Jacqueline Koerner completed a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Geography at The University of British Columbia in 2018. With their academic background, they possess a strong foundation in the study of geography and international affairs.
