Founders Group of Food Companies Inc.

Founders Group of Food Companies Inc. (“Founders”) is a family firm, established in 2014, that invests its partners’ own capital and focuses on applying operating know-how in medium-sized consumer goods manufacturing businesses in order to build thriving organizations over the long term. Our partners combine 30 years’ private equity experience in over 80 companies with deep operating knowledge. Outside the partners, our team consists of individuals with operating or transaction experience. Our firm is led by Richard Harris, Rod Senft, Trevor Johnstone and Derek Senft. Richard Harris is the former CEO of Golden Boy Foods, a private label food manufacturer that was sold to Post Holdings in 2014 for $323 million. Golden Boy Foods was a portfolio company of Tricor Pacific Capital in its fourth fund. Rod Senft and Trevor Johnstone are two of the three original founders of Tricor Pacific Capital Inc., an institutional private equity firm, now in its fifth fund. Founders differs from the vast majority of private equity investors in terms of: (i) reliance on our own capital pool rather than institutional or third party high-net-worth capital; (ii) our long term strategy and intention to hold our investments indefinitely; (iii) a more prudent approach to debt-financing; (iv) a balance of skills in our team between financing / M&A and strategy / systems / operations; (v) willingness to buy 100% of a seller’s equity. Our investment criteria are: - Control investments only - Consumer goods manufacturing businesses, as well as related real estate investments - Across Canada and Midwest / Western US - Operating businesses with $3 to 10 million of recurring EBITDA; standalone real estate investments with $0.5 to $4 million annual Net Operating Income - Opportunity to leverage partners’ operating know-how to create value over the long term For additional information, please visit our website at http://www.foundersfoodgroup.com
